Chrismukkah

The past few days have been busy. Look, I'll show you.

We opened some Hanukkah Play Doh (tonight they opened jammies, which went better than expected because I told them they had a 1 in 4 chance of picking jammies tonight, so they were prepared. Tomorrow, they have a 1 in 3 chance of picking books. Yikes. I wrapped all their gifts this year by sticking them in grocery bags-- one for each night (reduce RE-USE recycle, damnit). Since they each got the same thing every night, there's 2 of each present in each bag and they take turns choosing bags. All the gifts look the same, so they have no clue what they're getting, and they LOVE to chose a bag. It's been a really fun Hanukkah tradition in the making, and I re-used all the TJ's bags I got the other week when I left my cloth grocery bags in the other car.)

On Friday night, when we were hauling out boxes of Christmas crap in anticipation of getting our tree on Saturday, I found our creepy Elf on the Shelf, and I thought it would be really funny to put it on Harry's night stand so he'd see it first thing in the morning. Unfortunately, he saw it at 5 am and never went back to sleep because he was so excited about the ELF! and the SNOW! We all spent the rest of the weekend dreaming of sleep and screwing with the elf:

We spent a fairly ridiculous amount of time cramming stuffed animals in our shirts and pretending to have stuffed heads

It SNOWED and we played outside! After getting bundled, of course

We went to the Christmas tree farm, where the guys bundling the trees tied our car door shut. D'oh.

We got a super cute family picture,

and we severely overestimated the size of our house and had to cut the top. Twice.

Harry and Jack ad the most fun ever cramming ornaments on it.

And Ben and I did our best not to edit their placement, even when they hung everything on the very bottom

We alo draged out our Little People nativity set, which means the holy family will spend the next month involved in some very unholy pursuits

  1. What a great weekend!! LOVE the stuffed heads picture. You guys have so much fun together.

I laughed out loud at the pic of Jack with the lawnmower in the snow. He's Wisconsin Wes! Wes would mow ALL DAY if I let him. Too funny.

  2. What a fun weekend! Because my "little angels" refuse to wear appropriate clothing in the snow we didn't get to play outside. But they did have decorating the tree. And we have both the nativity set and a Christmas set and sadly Santa TOTALLY trumps the baby Jesus.
